Marine Protection back at Home

Readers of this blog will know already that I am passionate about the state of our seas. The waves look unchanging from year to year to our inexpert terrestrial eyes, but below the waves UK waters are some of the most productive in the world. The marine environment is under pressure from litter, over-fishing and habitat destruction but all of these goes unnoticed from the surface.

In the UK, the Marine Conservation Society has been campaigning for establishment of marine conservation zones, similar to that already in place in countries like New Zealand. Now is the time to add your voice to the campaign and ensure that MPs take these issues seriously and establish such areas in law.

Please add your voice to the campaign here.
