The Last Supper

BCYC 10th Anniversary Dinner at The Painted Hall, Greenwich
What a fantastic send off from the UK. Last night we were privileged to dine in the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, where our many friends from the British Classic Yacht Club gathered to wish us well. It was also the club's 10th anniversary celebration, but I'm sure they would have laid on a similarly magnificent feast just for us.....
BCYC Commettee Re-enact "The Last Supper"
At the AGM prior to supper, David Murrin failed to turn the water into wine, but a club motto was announced - "Per ardua ad mare: tuum est" - how appropriate! The club celebrated its first decade and praised all the members for our passion for our classic yachts as we tirelessly throw £50 notes and more at them and they devour our attentions. We also got a personal mention as we leave in the morning to join Croix des Gardes in Lisbon, both for the trip and for the way the BCYC has enabled like-minded yachtsmen to come together help each other. Member Dave Spensley-Corfield joins us with his own son in one week, and we may have persuaded Cornelius van Rijckevorsel to assist in the return passage.

Dave - "OMG we're actually doing this!"
Our thanks extend to all at the British Classic Yacht Club who continue to encourage and support all of us in using these beautiful old boats to their full potential and preventing them from fading away into the sands of time. Thanks once more for Rollo of Pazienza for encouraging us to enter the Transat Classique, and to Tim of Infanta for loaning us a case of charts and pilots. We shall see you all at the 11th Regatta in July next year.
